    Very clean ,staff very pleasant.

Walls a bit thin,so you can hear next door.

Very good position next to the beach , within walking distance to the marina ,free parking , good food , good staff ,nice garden and pool area , tends to be for older people and not many children which suits us , price of the drinks very reasonable for a hotel , have stayed with friends before so knew what to expect ,perhaps not suitable for families and more suited to couples and single travellers , bus stops just outside of hotel .

Good location close to marina and also shopping and restaurants good seaview room with great air conditioning. Very clean and comfortable

    location

The hotel facilities are excellent. The location is wonderful. Their most prized asset is their "Restaurant" The food was always beautiful and the restaurant staff charming. The maid service was excellent. We found the reception staff unhelpful. They gave no information on the hotel .. you had to ask. They could do with a course at "charm school".

The confirmation of our booking number 739290949 confirms under "Room Details" This room features a private balcony with views of the pool and garden, and side sea views". On arrival we were asked to pay in advance, which we did. However when we accessed our room it was a dark dingy small twin bedded room with a side door leading to a tiny balcony, with views to the side garden. The room allocated never sees the sun.It also reeked of cigarette smoke. When we asked for another room they said they were full and we may get another one on Monday. We asked if we could have a refund and go elsewhere and they said not possible. Their only concession was sending a maid in to spray the smokey room with air freshener! We never used the awful room and stayed with friends until we got the other room on Monday. On the day of leaving they presented us with a bill for 50 Euros(which we paid) for the upgrade to the room we should have had in the 1st place.. Perhaps you should advise your clients that Pez Espada reception staff have a policy that ~Booked.net clients must pay up front. I would also strongly recommend your clients view the room before paying. Ours was not an isolated incident, On passing reception ironically we heard two other couples complaining about smoke filled awful rooms!!

Fantastic for watching the world go by on the beach front and soaking up the sun! Miguel on the front desk was so helpful.

Strong smell of furniture polish in the rooms

Location is great (but so are all the hotels here). Short transfer from airport. taxi rank outside hotel, easy to jump in to airport. The bar staff were very pleasant. New sunbeds and although you need to reserve with a towel there seemed to be just about enough. Prom right at the end of the garden

Rooms are dirty and very very dated and basic. Housekeeping only change towels and make bed. Everything is charged as extra, eg safe, pool towels, access to mini bar, ...... It probably looked nice in the 60's but hasnt been touched. carpets in room stained and filthy, housekeeping never vaced it. All the furniture is battered, chipped and ready for throwing out. Indooe pool is tiny, you couldnt swinm in it, not in a nice lower floor of hotel, dark and dingy. facilities are not as you would read on the web site but seem more of a tick box to get the star rating. Food is very basic and luke warm but the main issue is the rooms, hated going back to them every night and never felt clean in them. Locals wander in and use the pool for free and go unchallenged!!

That it was on the beach

Decadent!!!! Bed was uncomfortable and made lot of noise..... the staff were always in a hurry and just wanted to get rid of you, the people working at the breakfast were the same and had the ability at exactly 10:30 to start cleaning up breakfast and have everything cleared in 5 minutes, the food was horrible drivel (ie british food, beans on toast!) and the other "restaurants" around this hotel were just as bad and charged a shit load of money for the same level of food and terrible service. I cannot say more b/c I stayed there only as long as I needed to and left right after breakfast to better cities with better amenities. Well, in any case, I am not your customer.....you customer comes from the uk, cares less about food and culture.

The location was great. Close enough to the airport to only be 20 Euros in a cab, but far enough away so that you didn't hear the planes. It is right on the beach. You could walk to either Torremolinos or Benalmadena. It has plenty of bars and restaurants close by.

People were saving sunbeds by putting their towels on them from 7am. Some would even save the sunbeds and go out for most of the day, then use them when they got back late afternoon. If you didn't have a sunbed by 9am, you couldnt get one all day.

  • Older travelers
    5.8

Good beach-front location, very convenient for all shops, bars, restaurants, right on the promenade - also not a 'huge' hotel, so no panic for sun-beds and umbrellas in the morning.

Rather shabby, dated, needs a thorough overhaul and bringing into the 21st century. Staff were either 'brusque' or seemed oblivious to customer care. It relies on the loyalty of repeat customers from the 'senior citizen' age bracket. Entertainment was either 'non existent' or minimal.

  • Family with children
    7.8

The location is superb, at the quieter end of La Carihuela. It is convenient for travelling to Malaga or Fuengirola. The dining area is light & airy & the waiting staff & maitre most accommodating.

The evening music entertainment is definitely geared towards the older guest & so my 22 year old daughter & I spent the evenings outside of the hotel, which was a pity. By 8.30 A.m one morning every single sun lounger had already been reserved by guests placing their towels on them. I noticed that several of them were not occupied for the majority of the day. The management should really not allow this to take place.

  • Older travelers
    8.2

Excellent hotel, couldn't fault the food or its position more or less right on the beach. Lovely views from the balconies. We normally go self catering but we will definitely return to the pez espada.

You couldn't get to know your waiters as every meal time you were on a different table, but apart from that they were very quick on service and the young girl in the kitchen was in and out allthe time replenishing the food. Perhaps if they allocated people the same table, and put two lots of people at the same table if would be better. There were a few single travellers and I am sure they would have liked some company at mealtimes.

The Beach Location & south west facing room to catch the evening sun.

I did not like the flies around the pool area, & also a fridge in the room would be good instead of a locked mini bar.

The staff are always welcoming and pleasant when we stay there its like home from home

  • Older travelers

The food was great and resaurant staff were excellent.

On arrival the receptionist wasnt partcularly interested in us,he was more interested in looking at holidays on the intrnet. The room we were allocated was on the ground floor , we requested a high room. It was ok but thats all,we requested to change rooms and were offered annother it was worse than the first with paint peeling off the walls .The leg on one of the beds was broken we reported it but they did nothing. We couldnt sit on the balcony at night as the sprinklers came on and we got soaked, we were then infested by flying ants we sprayed them .Next day the cleaner came and went but didnt seem to notice the dead ants and hoovered and left.
